Accessibility in Quebec
The Quebec was the first province to pass an accessibility law in 1978, requiring public sector organizations, such as government agencies and municipalities, to meet certain accessibility requirements.
In 2004, the Quebec government amended its legislation and the is now called the Act to secure handicapped persons in the exercise of their rights with a view to achieving social, school and workplace integration.
